NCERT Solutions for Class 12 Physics Chapter Details.
Chapter 1: Electric Charges and Fields
This chapter will help you in solving questions based on the calculation of forces between two charged particles, which are located at a distance from each other. When you rub it against each other, for example when you rub a silk cloth with a glass rod, you will also learn about the cause of the charge that appears in the material. In large scale charges, do you know why the quantization of charges is neglected? You will also find questions on determining the total charge and dipole moment of a system along with torque and electric field.
Chapter 2: Electrostatic Potential and Capacitance
Students will get a brief idea about electrostatic potential using solutions in Smarter Educators. This chapter includes derivations on topics such as the potential energy of a system of charges, the energy stored in a capacitor, and the potential due to an electric dipole. Problems based on effective capacitance of capacitors are also solved step by step as per CBSE syllabus. These concepts and numerical questions are answered in the simplest way to help the students perform well in the board exams.
Chapter 3: Current Electricity
In this chapter, students will learn the definitions of important terms such as conduction, resistance, cell emf, drift velocity, conduction, resistivity and internal resistance. Students will also learn about graphing resistivity for semiconductors, metals and alloys. It will provide a good grip on converting complex circuits into simple series and parallel circuits. The concepts of meter bridge or potentiometer are briefly explained under this chapter. Many problems based on these concepts are available for practice at the end of the chapter.
Chapter 4: Moving Charges and Magnetism
Students can learn about various graphs, diagrams, pictures and examples from our daily life so that the concepts can be remembered for longer duration. The derivation of concepts such as Ampere's circuit law and the forces between two current-carrying wires are also clearly explained. High marks problems based on these concepts are also present at the end of the chapter which should be practiced regularly.
Chapter 5: Magnetism and Matter
This chapter includes questions on different quantities, how to determine the Earth's magnetic field, compass direction and its effect on the poles. Want to know why the Earth's magnetic field varies from point to point in space? Check out NCERT solutions available on Smarter Educators. You will also learn about interstellar space and its weak magnetic field. The magnetic moment of the solenoid is also another important chapter which is discussed in this chapter.
Chapter 6: Electromagnetic Induction
This chapter talks about both electricity and magnetism together. The key concepts of importance here are Faraday's law and Lenz's law. The definitions and problems based on these laws are explained in a systematic manner to help the students understand the concepts effectively. The induced emf and the direction of the magnetic field should be considered while solving the problems from the practice questions.
Chapter 7: Alternating Current
Chapter 8: Electromagnetic Waves
Electromagnetism is a physical attraction that occurs between electrically charged particles. If a capacitor is charged from an external source, there will be a potential difference between the two capacitance plates which can be determined along with the displacement. Students will also learn about Kirchhoff's rules for high marks in board exams. The RMS value of the conduction current and the similarity between displacement and conduction current are briefly explained here.
Chapter 9: Ray Optics and Optical Instruments
From this chapter, students will learn about the phenomena of refraction, reflection and dispersion of light using ray diagrams. Image formation is clearly explained in this chapter, using the laws of reflection and refraction. The manufacture and function of optical devices including the human eye is covered here. Students will study about the natural phenomena caused by sunlight which is important from the exam point of view.
Chapter 10: Wave Optics
Huygens' laws of reflection and refraction is the concept that carries the most points from this chapter. Angular width expression and Brewster's law are explained with suitable examples to provide clear knowledge among the students. Apart from theory and derivations, students are highly recommended to solve all the problems from the NCERT textbook. Doppler Effect is explained in a comprehensive manner to improve the conceptual knowledge among the students.
